The Harding Township Historical Society has set up a display of past photographs in town and antique winter toys. The items will be on display for the next month.

The photos include many horsedrawn vehicles used to navigate around town in the snow, including one used to transport students to school in the snow in 1914. Another photo is of an open sleigh carrying a group of women past 1 Lee's Hill Road. One photo dated between 1915 and 1930 shows New Vernon village covered in snow. At that time, the village had a median running down the center of the road with well-established trees planted on it.

The exhibit also includes winter antique toys. Hand-made toy sleds mimic the real sleighs in the photographs. There are a pair of wooden skis and a pair of antique skates that would make Hans Brinker envious. There is also set of miniature tin skaters and a pair of tin skiers.

The exhibit is open during library hours.
